Spring Break Camp ~ The Journey of Vasilisa
An Initiatory Adventure for Girls Ages 8-12
Join Melanie O’Leary (Counsellor, Earth & Soul Medicine Practitioner, Sacred Ceremony Facilitator) and her child, Maya, for a week-long journey inspired by and adapted from the timeless tale of Vasilisa in the book Women Who Run with the Wolves.
This camp offers girls aged 8-12 a sacred space to step into their inner strength and wisdom. Through Vasilisa’s story, they will begin to explore the necessary journey of separating from the family system - a vital step toward discovering their individuality and embracing their intuition as a trusted guide. In a safe and supportive environment, they will deepen their self-awareness and confidence, all while honouring the bonds that have shaped them.
Mother’s Gathering
To prepare for this journey, mothers are invited to gather on Sunday, March 23rd from 2:00 - 6:00pm. During this time, we will explore your role in supporting your daughter’s journey into adolescence, reflect on the themes of the Vasilisa story, and connect through shared stories and ceremony. This gathering will build a foundation of trust and understanding, setting the stage for a meaningful experience for both mother and daughter.
During the camp, participants will:
Craft their own Vasilisa doll, a talisman for self-trust and guidance.
Engage in the nine tasks, adapted for their age, to develop resilience, independence, and courage.
Explore their inner world through storytelling, art, and sacred ceremony.
Connect with the earth through purposeful time outdoors, strengthening their bond with nature and deepening their sense of belonging.
This initiatory journey supports young girls as they navigate the threshold between childhood and adolescence, empowering them to step into their emerging sense of self while honouring the bonds that shaped them.
Dates & Times: Monday, March 24th– Friday, March 28th, 9:00am – 4:00pm each day.
Mother’s Gathering: Sunday, March 23rd 2:00 - 6:00pm
